Part time helper

Hi, we're moving to HK soon & I've been looking for information on part time domestic help. I've come across something saying it's illegal to have a part time helper, is this true? Surely it can't be all or nothing?! Just wondering if you HAVE to have them fulltime & living in with you.

Personally we don't need someone fulltime, we like our privacy & I've read some terrible stories on here of bad behaved helpers who are rude & steal. Obviously this is not all of them but just needing some direction to know what to do when we get to HK.

We have 2 children who will be 1yr old & 5yr old when we arrive. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ed, I've read this before but I'm trying to find out of a legal service for part time helpers who already live in HK.

I'm curious as to what the options are as well. I think Sparklemaids and/or Merrymaids would work very well for those that just want a cleaning service, but what about those that want some childcare or meal prep thrown in as well?

I've heard about finding locals to do part-time, but where does one find local help?
