Here you go http://www.labour.gov.hk/eng/faq/cap57f_whole.htm#q1 . According to that, the holiday is the first day of October. Sunday 4th is neither a statutory nor a general holiday.

As to statutory holidays which fall on a rest day, you are required to give another day off instead.

My helper does not like 2 or 3 days holidays in a row as she said she has no place to go and needness to say, spending more unnecessary money. Her preference is Sunday when she goes to Church and to meet up with her friends. She always come home early on those odd days therefore we make arrangements that if she has no appointment, she can stay home and I pay her for the day (I know it's illegal) but we are both happy with it.

Well, she should always have the option of staying home. Our helper will often sit in her room half the day and surf the Internet, chat with her family, talk on the phone, read books, watch movies.
