macau or shenzen

Hi, I am in the process of hiring a new helper. The one I like is going to be terminated by her current employer.

The helper would not like to go back to her country of origin to wait for her visa. I have heard that helpers sometimes wait in Macau or Shenzen for their papers to be processed rather than returning back home.

does anyone know how it works? is it legal? who is responsible to pay for their accommodation in Shenzen or Macau? the helper? the future employer?

Any advice, welcome.

Yes it is quite common and I'm pretty sure it's legal (I could be wrong). Typically the helper would pay since she does not work for you yet.

it is illegal. if your maid will not go home in Phil to wait her visa thats means she is not registered in POEA and if your maid in the future has something happen to her the phil government cant help him coz you hire her illegal.
