My husband and I are in the process of employing a helper from the Philippines. We have filled out all the documentation and gathered all the necessary paperwork. The last thing for us to do is provide an airplane ticket or a ticket exchange voucher that must be one-way from the Philippines to Hong Kong and open dated.
I went to a travel agent to organize this and it appeared that I was the first person she had encountered to make such a request. She told me that they could not issue an oped dated ticket and that all I could do was buy a ticket with Philippine Airlines with a fictitious date in the name of my future helper. They would then issue me with a receipt and an itinerary (but no ticket). My helper would then have to take the receipt and itinerary into the Philippine airlines office in the Philippines and have the date changed. The price I was quoted for this was just over $3000.00HK.
I tried calling the Philippine consulate to ask them if this is what normally goes on but I was unable to get through.
I would love to hear what other peoples experiences with this part of the procedure have been.
Thanks.

Hi Beancurd,
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately you cannot buy open dated tickets over the internet and the instructions specify that it must be an open dated ticket.
I will try to Philippine consulate tomorrow and ask what they suggest.

We did this through Wing On travel before who will provide a TEV which is enough to finalise the processing.

"Why not just buy a e-ticket online from Cebu Pacific using your credit card?"
A note on this. Make sure you have the credit card bill handy. If you don't fill in the address EXACTLY like on your bill, the cc will be rejected. To add insult to injury, this won't happen immediately. Your payment will be "approved", then "canceled" after 10-20 minutes.
