My helper of late has been feeling a bit dizzy & she feels that her eyes are getting weak & she may need glasses. Would someone be able to tell me if I am responsible for the expenses toward this or is she supposed to pay for her eye glasses if needed.
Thanks

Well, you are responsible for medical treatment if she is "ill". The question is if the law defines this as an illness. I suggest you call the Immigration Hotline (2824 6111) and ask.
Having said that, if she is a good employee I would pay for the eye exam and one pair of glasses.

Feeling dizzy can be a sympton of ear infection. Don't dismiss that possibility.

I went last year to Optical 88 in Causeway Bay (they seem to have branches all over the place) and they gave me a very thorough eye test there and then. They told me what I needed and gave me a written prescription that I could take anywhere, or ignore. I was under no pressure to return there to buy glasses from them and they did not charge me anything for the test. I think that was normal procedure for them.
Perhaps if you can get your helper in for a test (free) then you will know if that is the problem. Alternatively, perhaps she should just go and see the doctor first to check that it is nothing else (dietary imbalance etc). Afterall he can carry out a basic eye test.
