Should I clarify it to her about the annual leave?

My helpered started to work for me since Jan 7, 2009. Since this summer I am going to attend a workshop oversea for more than a month, I told her she can go home if she wants. Of course she will still be paid since it is me who is leaving. However, she told me that she still prefers to go home in this Christmas holidays. Sure I am willing to comprimise that if it is really important for her. The problem is that she still won't work for me up to the full 12 months by this December. My question is if the leaves she takes in December will be able to be counted as her 7-day annual leave upon her finishing her first year. Should I prepare for some document to let her sign in case she asks for more leave later? Another question is if I should clarify to her that I do not have obligation to pay her airfare this Christmas. We never talked about this. Are they supposed to know they won't be paid for airfare in the middle of contract?

Many thanks to Wiz Bang and beancurd. I will do what you guys suggested. It seems that my helper does not know anything about the guide for leave. She just insists to go home in this Dec. Acutally this summer I will be away for a long time (more than 5 weeks) and I hope she can take extra leave with pay (does not include her paid annul leave) during this time period, but she said she could see her children the whole day if she visits in Xmas holidays. I do not quite understand her logic since 5 weeks will be much longer than one week. If my boss allows me to leave for more than a month with pay, I will be happy to death.
