My helper has been with me for over one month. For Xmas, we gave a LCD + DVD. Her salary is 3,600. When would the next bonus be expected? And how much should it be? How many bonuses/gifts do people give in a year?

it's your choice. it's not to be expected. do what you want to do. if you want to give something - give it. don't do it cos everyone else does....

Our helper started right before Christmas, literally the Saturday before. So we didn't give her anything.
If she performs well, we will give her 500 at CNY and 500 at Christmas. We also will write a card at her Birthday and maybe an additional bonus.
Hope that helps.
But agree with Zalca, it is not required it is totally up to you and what you are comfortable with.
