My maid has completed one year of work. Is it legally allowed to give her 14 days of annual leave to go visit home? I mean we can get it in writing, but is it valid ? Or do we give her unpaid leave (she may not want this option) Also since we are only supposed to pay her one way, how do people handle this particular issue as the ticket to srilanka, is around 5000 $. I asking to know people's experience as I really do not trust her one bit and am worried she may go back on her word in the future.Shall talk to her after hearing your response.Thanks,

You do not need to buy her a ticket for her holiday, you only need to supply one return ticket per contract, one way to get to HK, one way to return home at the end of her contract. She is entitled to 14 days paid leave per 1 st contract, rising to 16 days on the 2nd, 18 days on the 3rd etc. But you can give her as much unpaid leave as you like.
