Pay for helper's flight?

Our helper has terminated her contract to join her former employers overseas. She has only been with us for 7 months and wants to go home for a few weeks before moving overseas.

Since she has terminated the contract, shouldn't the new employer pay for extra trips to the Phillipines?

I know it is not that much money, but I would just like to know. Thanks

No, you are responsible for her trip home at the end of a contract regardless of who terminated.

Hi, all

My helper have been with us little over a year. And she wants to take one week vacation to go back home. Am I responsible for the ticket? or as employer we are only responsible for returning tickets at end of contract? Thanks.

You are not responsible for this trip. As an employer, your duty is to pay for your DH's flight home & travel expenses at the end of her employment with you, whether the contract is completed or terminated early by either you or her. Some employers choose to treat their helpers to extra trips home, but that is at your discretion.
