I dated my DH's application 28/7/04. Her visa was approved 8/9/04. I started paying her a week after that once she arrived in HK. I have been paying the DH levy since 3/9/04.
What date is the end of her contract? She says it's 28/7/04 but I am unsure as I understood that the DH levy was to cover her 2 year contract and the dates don't match.
Can anyone shed some light? I've tried calling immigration but can't get thru. I don't really have the option of going there in person as i work full time.
I need to extend her visa (as her passport expires 31/5/06) but am not sure to what date!

check her the immigration chop (not the sticker) on her passport. it say permitted to stay here until XXXXXX..
thats the date you should follow. regardless of when she started..

That date states 31/5/06 as that's when her passport expires. I am applying to extend her visa but am not sure until what date i.e. the date of application or the date I paid the levy.

I believe it's two years from the date of the visa approval. When she get's her new passort she'll need to get her visa updated as well.

the end date is two years from the date she arrived in hong kong. check the chop.
it usually says:
PERMITTED TO STAY UNTIL xxxxx
its inside her passport, the one she got when she landed in hk. that the end date. entend her visa to cover that date.
i know since i am also a helper. and thats what i have been told when i arrived.

I went for my 2 year visa once but my passport would have expired before the end of the 2 year visa date, so I was only given a visa that lasted until one month before my passport expired. I then had to get a new passport and visa. So I don't think you can always go by the date of the visa. You should go by the date you signed the contract.
