Terminate a DH who always forgot ...

All Dh makes mistakes, some are more "dangerous" and more "unacceptable" than others.... but when you terminate the contract, you have to pay her 1 month notice if you are not planning to keep her for another month, regardless how "horrible" and how "undeserving" you think she is of this.

If you read more in this forum, you will find there are MUCH worse mistakes than leaving key in the door, and forgetting to send your child to an art lesson.

Oooo...

I never thought of sending a letter to my helper (specially because I see her all day long and she sleeps 5m away from my bedroom). If she does something "bad" or messes something up I just sit her down with me at the end of the day when kids are asleep and talk to her about it.

Usually she apologises, I explain her that I didn't talk to her to make her do so but for her to understand what she did wrong and how I wanted it next time, she feels and looks horribly bad, I feel guilty, everyone is uncormfortable for a minute or so and that's it!

Am I being unprofessionnal? Should I straighten thing up even if I think it's not worth it?

I fear you may be going through quite a number of helpers in the future. Why didn't you remind her of your daughter's art class?
