Thanks for your responses

Under the Labour Law of Hong Kong, you should give her one day in lieu and not 'rewarding' her by money.

why dont we just follow the regulation and give her one day in lieu? She might be happy to earn more as a bonus, but her performance will definitely deteriate if she cld not have proper rest. The victim will be at the end ..... Ladyfrog

The thing is that I'm leaving on holidays next week and she'll have 3 weeks without us (paid). But still I would like to pay her for Sunday.

I was thinking about 200 or 300 hkd ???

i think green offers a good alternative, but since you are asking, the hourly rate of part time helpers is about $60-$70 per hour. if she worked an eight hour day, $480 would be the amount.

what I know is holidays are paid double...so if you ask her work then you have to pay her more 200. that $60-$70 is only a rate for hourly basis...you are not allowed to pay your own helper on hourly basis, since you are the one who hired her. 3270/31 days=109. So you pay her 218 HK$

And also the advice that you have to give her one day in lieu of one sunday, becuase that how the immigration telling us to do (check their website..it helps a lot)

Hi ladyfrog,

People like you are the reason why I never want to have an helper who worked for expats before. You give her already 3 weeks holidays when she is only entitled to 7 days (and saturday are included in the 7 days) so why would you pay her for an extra working-sunday ????
