Hi. I'm employing a DH who is on a 2 weeks visa as a tourist. She came to HK to look for a job. My question is that instead for her to go back to philippine in 2 weeks time, can she go to Macau and back to hk? Eg her air ticket to return home is on the 30/11/06.Instead for her to go back and come back to hk again. Will the immigration let her come back? Meanwhile i will do the paper work to employ her in hk. Is it against the law? Please advice.

I know for sure that she will have to stay OUTSIDE Hong Kong while her visa is being processed. It will take 4-6 weeks for her visa to be approved. Immigration will not allow her to change her Tourist visa to a Working visa.

Is employing someone ona tourist visa against the law? 'Fraid so. And in the circumstances I agree with the advice from Nat 76.
