Breaking things

The maximum deduction is $300.-, isnt it? But if you are already thinking that your helper might be clumsy or you are very nervous that she might break your precious things, I can give you 100% definite answer. Yes they will break things in the house. And in most cases, they dont tell you. So I would say (1) hire someone less clumsy (2) tell them before you sign her contract that all your items are valuables and you cant afford her to break it. Deduction on her wages doesnt help if she is a clumsy person anyway. Good luck.

I saw the figure from one of the govt brochures when hiring my helper. I think it is the opposite. Say you will give her an extra bonus of XXX if she performs well each month and doesnt break anything. That way is more positive and encourage people to do things better. BUT again, it also relates to how her character is.
