Termination of helper

Can anyone help me?

I want to terminate my helper for a number of reasons but i am wondering what happens to a helper who has had their contract terminated? Do they have to return to the Phillipines? and how do they come back? I feel really bad terminating as my helpers husband lives and works in Hong Kong.... and what money do I owe her, she has only been with me 6 months?

A helper whose contract has been terminated is allowed to be in HK for 14 days .... basically since she is no longer on a work visa she goes on the normal tourist visa of 14 days. After 14 days she has to leave Hk ; she has 14 dats to find alternative employment. She can exit to Macau and wait there for papers to be processed if she finds another employer or has to ho back to Philipinnes.


It normalky takes 4-6 weeks for a new contract to be processed. Since you are terminating her contract you have to inform the Immigration dept by giving a letter and the reasons therein. Also you have to provide her with a home ticket.


I think you only need tonpay her her salary, if she had worked kore than a year there is an additional amt to be paid. Pls check it out on the FDH termination in HK ... its quite clear


I had to terminate my earlier helper since she was stealing and I realised she actually got a great deal when I sacked her! all the best
