I have just discovered my helper has been sneaking around, and taking my baby to places I do not want her or him to go. My trust level is subsequently zero. I do not feel at this point that even with a warning, I am willing to have her care for my baby.
A friend has told me this information, and unfortunately, alot of it makes sense to me now in retrospect.
If I terminate her, with pay, holiday, flight home etc. can I look for a new helper immediately, or does the IDept. need to give me the go ahead after they see the termination letter?
I will not cite the actual reasons as I have no proof (save hiring a Private Detective!), but I am hoping to go through the issues with her and agree to terminate on a common acceptable reason. Does anyone have any advice on what that reason could be, and whether they have come up against any issues from the ID, when giving a reason such as 'did not get along' etc.
She is the first helper I have employed, and I would need another pdq, as I work full time.
Please, no bleeding hearts about Helper Rights, if I did this to my employer I would be sacked on the spot for breach of contract.

You do not need a reason if you pay her in lieu of one month's notice etc. People have fired for much less. I've heard of one helper who was fired because she did not prevent a newborn baby from waking his parents!!! Lack of trust is pretty material.
Just make sure that you inform immigration within 7 days. Getting a new one quickly may not be so easy though, as immigration take 3-6 weeks to process a visa (that's after you've found someone). Good luck.

As am going to sack her tonight, I would rather not say in case she reads it and figures it out.
No idea how to do a private message, otherwise I would tell you. Really stressful experience actually. I am like Jekyll and hyde- sometimes I feel I might be overreacting, then I realise my boy is being left to his own devices at 7 months old. I have decided this morning that no amount of sorry etc will ever put my trust back in place, and he deserves better. Will let you know how it goes.

you dont need to site exact reason..just say financial..or yoiu would rather get family or other help..they don't care..i have asked them...and also...you can apply anytime...for levy purposes they need you to show the termination letter...if you pay full levy for next one thedy don't care when you terminate the first one....

Have cited a difference of opinion on aspects of childrearing. Hoping this will be OK. Frankly, I could give a damn whether she is re-employed easily. I just want it to be official enough to get her out of my life and move on. Looking at others on Sunday and changing the locks tomorrow. What a palaver! I was way too naive, never again.
