Visa process for terminated helper

I am signing a contract for a helper that has been terminated. Do I have to use an agency ? I have always done the process myself and was hoping there was some way around the agency.

Yes, go through an agency. We hired a terminated helper recently and went to immigration tower to do everything ourselves only to be told we need to use an agency.

As maelene says, you must use an agency unless you are renewing a current contract or hiring someone already in HK who has ended a contract.
