Any advice as to whether to have a part-time DH or a full-time live-in DH would be much appreciated. Presumably there is a difference in salary? Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

i think it all depends on your situation. if you dont have any young children. all you need is someone to clean up the house, a part time will be sufficient. but if you have babies or young children, i would advice either a full time live in or a full time live out. meantime, you can hire a part time while you are looking for a full time. that's my thought.

Many thanks for your response. I think a part-time will be fine.

what is the cost of hving a full time live out? i have heard of families who have helpers who live out in a shelter? has anyone any idea how much that would cost as i am positive you would have to pay for housing. also if you need them for an extra night or 2 so you can go out, is this extra or part of the already paid salary?

Could you recommend me a reliable part time helper who is a Permanent Resident in HK?
Many thanks.

Technically full-time non-resident helpers are not allowed to live out. But I can't imagine anyone ever gets caught.
I would go for part-time (and I would probably go through one of the cleaning agencies advertised here - it will cost you a little more - $70ph I think, but I had a friend who did this and found it great).

we use a perm ID part time for $60 an hour. IF you want I can pass on her details. She lives in Tung Chung but comes to the island every day
