Typically Cebu Pacific is the cheapest, but not always.

seems to be cheaper on average to fly into Clark as well, instead of MNL...

Quite. However I think there are only 1-2 flights a day into Clark.

but there is an airline SeaAir who recently opened the Clark -HKG - Clark route... if the destination is Manila... then there are buses like Philtranco going to Manila for about 500 pesos

Wiz Bang, do you work for Sea Air?

Between those very cheap flights, I'm sure most helpers would be more than willing to pay for the difference for a bit of convenient and TIME.

I have a connecting flight and there is no way in whatever will I fly to Clark.

Employers should know that buses etc costs will be added to the airfare. Whatever means to get back to the helpers point of origin, must be paid for by the boss.

no i don't work for seair but i want to point out that employers have options and are not limited to the big airlines.

besides, employers are responsible for their fare home specially when their helper's contract is terminated. it is perfectly legal to provide transpo whether it is a direct route or indirect...so long as the helper gets to their destination (you can look it up in the labor dept and immigration website)

check out the airlines promos - currently seair has one coz it's a new route for them.

eg. as i am looking now at seair website - one way fare hkg to clark phils. is 140 HKD. Bus fare to Manila is about 500 so that totals roughly 200 HKD airfare to send your helper home.

Cebu pacific is about 370 to 450 HKD to Manila.

the question here is - is Cebu Pacific currently the cheapest fare? So my answer is there are other airlines which have promos like SeaAir.

and to reiterate - there is nothing wrong and illegal about providing for transpo fares albeit an indirect route.

from the labour department website chapter 10

Q10.1 Is my employer responsible for paying my passage back to my place of

origin upon termination or expiry of the contract?

A Yes. Upon termination or expiry of the contract, your employer should

provide free passage, usually an air ticket covering airport tax for you to return

to your place of origin, and a daily food and travelling allowance of HK$100

per day.
