Cheque, bank draft, or cashier’s order by post (no cash).
PPS, referencing the Hospital’s Merchant code 83.
Internet banking services from your bank.
Pay via ATM with JET PAYMENT signage, using Hospital Authority’s merchant code 9083 (Bill Type: 01).
Pay by cash at 7-Eleven (max: $5,000).

Private Hospital Billing

Private treatment without insurance will be costly. Also, room and procedure fees are separate from doctor’s fees, prescription, and meals or towels.

Payment Methods

EPS or credit card
Bank transfer
Cashier’s order

Paying via private health insurance is easiest for private hospital billing.

Hospital Billing via Insurance Claim

Making any insurance claim was long and difficult. While insurers need patient reimbursement, there are simpler methods for paying hospital bills.

Patient Reimbursement

This involves paying your treatment upfront, then submitting the receipts to reimburse. However, the process can be long and involved.

Direct Billing

This is where a private hospital partners with a frequent insurer, allowing access to the treatment. Your insurance company will have a website or service for the hospital to confirm your coverage and pass your personal and treatment details to the insurer.

Paying Your Hospital Bill

Know what and when you need to pay. Below are important tips to note:

Out-of-Pocket Payment

Gather receipts.
Note down the full payment deadline.
Understand the methods.
Ask if financial relief options are available

Reimbursement Insurance Claims

Contact your insurer before booking an appointment.
Attend an in-network healthcare provider (a hospital in which your insurance coverage applies to).
Gather documents, receipts, and prescription notes.
Define your claim time limit, or your claim could be denied.
Obtain a claim form as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, contact your insurer.

Direct Billing Insurance Claims

Attend an in-network healthcare provider.
Present your insurance details to the hospital.
Wait for approval between the hospital and insurer.
Receive your treatment.
Finish off co-payment or deductibles.
Keep documentation and treatment notes for reference.
