Smelly Bathroom help please

My bathroom has started to smell. I live in a typical apartment block. I keep the toilet etc very clean, but the smell is coming through the small grate on the floor, which I guess lets water out if the floor gets wet. How do I clear out the grate / get rid of the smell??? Help me please!

Pour a good amount of water down the drain to wash through. Then a solution of bleach and water . Leave for a few hours. Repeat if no improvement. If there is a blockage you can buy ready prepared solutions at the supermarkets.

You need to put water down the drain every week to keep from getting stagnant water in the drain which causes the smell.

If this doesn`t work I suggest you get a plumber to check it out.

Yes the grate has a U-tube in it to prevent air and roaches from the main drain coming up. You should pour a couple of cups of water down the grate every week as it will dry up in the hot weather
