My wife and I are moving to fairview park in July. I'm looking to meet any expats in fvp to discuss the ins and out of life in yuen long.


We are both working in hk, no kids and a dog. Hence needing a house.

Nothing special to know just make sure you don't miss the last bus in the morning to work. Although the bus schedule looks like only 2-3 busses there are many more. Which section will you be living in?


Like any other place in HK try to get on with your neighbours and not quarrel with them. Also make sure you clean up after your dog people here get quite upset if you dont. If you use a bicycle to go shopping make sure you lock it. security is generally very good but worth putting in CCTV with remote recorder

thanks 190k, I looked at a house in reiver north which I almost signed for but as it was a little dated and so far from the centre I decided against. I am looking at a house in section D, will probably sign today.

How long in reality are the bus journeys? from the estate to central?

Bus ride depends on where you get on the bus but generally 25-30 minutes from main gate to Central Post office, 5 mins more to great eagle centre and another 5 to Park lane hotel. Return journeys from Luk Kwok Centre and Mandarin Hotel. 25 mins from Mandarin


Section D is very convenient especially for the bus you will get a choice of seats.


Yuen Long town has good eateries for Japanese and local food get out and experiment.

Thanks again 190k, what is the cost for the bus? My wife will work in Tsing Yi, do you know how long the bus takes to Tsing Yi from FVP?

Tsing Yi is also about 20 mins from main gate. Central bus $29.5 Tsing Yi $19.5
