I was hoping that someone could recommend a friendly piano teacher for private tutoring for a beginner prefeably on Kowloon side. We are looking to find someone who can provide a fun learning experience, rather than a military task master.

We take our daughter to Tom Lee's Music. You could call any music store near you and see if they give lessons. I can't believe no one replied to your note before now. Next time, you can do a search to see if the question's been asked before so you don't have to wait so long.

Oh that is an old thread. Tom Lee is the best option honestly.

I also have a studio in Kowloon and Clearwater Bay... I am from Canada, a piano teacher of over 18 years.
Although depending on how old your child is, you might want to consider group lessons at My Musikbox, or Tom Lee first.
Private lessons at Tom Lee and Parsons are also available, but be very sure what qualifications the teacher has. Many of them only have Grade 8.
Although you want the lesson to be just for fun, the beginning lessons are what lays out the most important foundation for future development in the instrument, and in music in general.
Very important to be "proper" and "correct" from the start.
