First of all, I can't tell if the tea does have an effect on me, but I just religiously drink it ever since I started working and have to pump at work. (I only returned to work when baby was 5 mos old. Before that I didn't take the tea and had no problem with milk supply.)
The Mother's milk tea claims to increase milk production, so does fish and papaya soup or peanut soup which does the same trick. But my confinement lady/ mid wife/ pui yuet didn't recommend drinking the soup until your milk comes out smoothly (a few days after delivery). This is because your breasts will likely be engorged shortly after delivery and the soup may make you feel more engorged and uncomfortable. Not sure how credible that is and not sure if this theory is also applied to the milk tea.

Wait until you give birth.
And first of all see if you need this or not, you might not.
The first few days, you will only have colustum (I know the spelling is wrong, sorry) anyway, then your milk will come in and you will have a day or two of looking like Pamela Anderson and it will probably hurt, so save some pain killers for this day!! After that, your body and your baby will eventually figure out how much milk to make and when...
If you do find you have a supply problem later, I woild suggest Fenugreek capsuls as I (and many others) found them much more effective than the tea.
Good luck, enjoy these last 2-3 weeks - go out for dinner, sleep lots, get a massage, pedicure, etc...
BTW - some women drink Rasberry Leaf Tea the last few weeks, to help 'soften' or 'relax' the uterus, but I have no idea if it works, I had about 2 cups my first pregnancy and then forgot!

It's a combination of different herbs that help some mothers produce more milk.

Try to go to a LLL meeting before your baby is born to see bf in action and get some personal help. It's so important...think how much prep you've done for the birth...post natal is so important too!
Good luck!
