I'd like to buy some PC board connectors, battery connectors & components. DIY stuff. Used to find them years ago at Golden Center in Hongkong, but no longer. Anywhere in Shenzhen (or Hongkong)?

A good start would be the computer/electronics places:
o Foresoon Computer. Very knowledgeable for computer stuff. store I go to is at Shop 2A&B, Ground Floor, 5 Wing Lok Street, Central, Hong Kong. They also have other branches. They also sell a small 110V-220V transformer for your US stuff.
o Wan Chai Computer Centre on Hennessy Road in Wan Chai – Electronics, computers, all that good stuff.
o Computer Zone at 298 Hennessy Road is a lesser known and slightly cheaper computer mall. From the road it looks like just a staircase leading up into a building but there are quite a few shops here.
o 188 Centre on Wan Chai Road (“behind” Computer Zone) has quite a few “Asian Pop Culture” outlets, such anime and manga stores, action figure stores and some electronics stores.

Thanks Axpt, I'll check out Foresoon later and Wanchai next few days. Since Golden and Causeway Bay were so dismal, I didn't bother to try the Wanchai places.

Yeah Causeway Bay is pretty crap for computer stuff. Too tourist oriented for serious geekdom.
BTW there is also a Foresoon inside the Wan Chai computer centre.

Thanks guys. I checked out Wanchai 298 & 188 this afternoon and Foresoon in both Sheung kwan and Wanchai. Better than Golden & Causeway Bay. But nothing that I need. Resisted the temptation to buy more gadgets.
Put it differently, I am looking for IC's, resistors, connectors, etc. the lowest level components but not in bulk. Looks like Hongkong only sells sub assemblies now. (Also looks like sub assembly prices in HK are either similar to the U.S. or more.) So I'll try Kopi's Apliu St. and as a last resort Shenzhen. Was hoping to avoid going there.

Galleries, I was afraid of that. I really don't know then. You would have such an easy time in the US between Radio Shack and a slew of online stores...
