I am looking for a small standalone freezer, either chest or door variant. Anyone know where to find one?
Here are the results of my search so far:
- Fortress and Broadway have the same little door model with three drawers for 3300 Honkies. It's nice but the price is pretty steep for something that costs USD 120-150 in the states.
- Stores on Lockhart Road have nothing.
- Philco has a large 4400 model chest freezer with a 3 month lead time.
- Whirlpool have nothing.
- Asiaxpat classified ads have nothing.
I am a bit tempted to just buy a cheap fridge/freezer but that would probably be too big for the space.

I have been looking for one for the last 6 months with no success. A friend of mine suggested B&Q in Shenzhen. I shall go and look at the weekend . Where did you find the Philco one?

We actually decided to bite the bullet and get the Fortress/Broadway one. Our current freezer is so full that the cooling air conduit is getting clogged, and thus the fridge doesn't get very cold at all. We need more freezer space now.
Funny how some things that you take for granted in North America or Western Europe seem almost impossible to get here. The thing I miss the most is online shopping. Apart from groceries and clothes, I rarely ventured into a store in the US during the last few years.

Thanks for that. We are a very large family and the appliances here in HK are far too small for us to use efficiently. Every time we go home we lug something back with us - last time it was a 6 slice toaster but a freezer may be a little too difficult!

Opposite the Gilman store in Leighton Centre is a big Whirlpool store. They had quite a few display models at reduced prices. Only traditional fridge/freezers but there were a few large ones.
