Took my 15month old into hong kong yesterday. he was hungry but not interested in the food that i had prepared and brought for him. in sheer desperation i walked into olivers super sandwiches and ordered a pasta dish (he loves pasta at home). the pasta was quite inedible tough and salty(baby thought so too). Although i dont plan a repeat of yesterday, for future reference, I would like to know where you take your babies in case of food emergencies

dan Ryan's in Pacific Place is pretty good, have kids menu as well... If you dont want to go to a reastaurant - there is a food hall in ThreeSixty - 4F Landmark - they have a lot of choice - should be able to find something for the little one.

Some crackers and milk from a supermarket will work. Also grapes (halve them), orange wedges (peeled), etc...

Idsvlln, next time i will definitely check out 360. but what if you're not in central? i do want to stop preparing ffood and carrying it around and want baby to be more flexible about what he eats.

my son is 15+ months so lately I don't bring food out anymore. The most i bring are a little bit of crackers and fruits like what axptguy38 mentioned. I found out that Pie n Tart shop has some nice pie that is filling n my son love it - sweet corn pie and pasta pie, all top with mash potato. I also get mash potato from KFC minus the gravy. Oh, he loves dim sum too, ordered tofu for him and he just eat the whole plate and want nothing else for 3 hours+. Oh yes, i also ordered fried rice before, tell the restaurant that it is for toddler so less salt and oil. Well, just got to try out and need not to bring food out save a lot of time, energy and the worry of 'is the food still ok' in such hot weather!

happy trying!

We never ordered a kids meal for our kids at that age, they didn't eat enough, just shared our plate of food with them.

There are so many places out there, any of the chinese restaurants, most kids love yeung chow fried rice or noodles.

or just for a snack, any of the bakeries, most kids love the sausage breads available there for around $6.

any Italien places, pizzas and pasta are always good to share.

good point - ours love dim sum too, and noodles and of course you can alway grab some buns or bread all over the place.

wont the sausages have too much preservatives in them to give to young toddlers (ie<2year) and also the dim sums and fried rice and noodles at restaurants are too greasy and have MSG. That's why i still occassionally bring our own food for our 20.5months.

Wouldnt western cuisine be better such as hotel coffee shops?

thanks all for the suggestions. my baby does chew food but gets impatient if he is hungry and has to chew through a sandwich or pastry(which is what you would get at the hotels cafes, though admittedly they are quieter). Chinese food would be the better choice. he does love wanton, noodles and dimsum.....will have to polish up on my cantonese so i know what i'm ordering

I agree completely. You gotta watch out for all that fried stuff and such. And the salt.

My LO loves the spaghetti at Fairwood Fast Food. As they have a picture of this on the "wall" menu, you just just point to it when placing your order. They have high chairs as well.
