Any testimonials on whether this is something to consider? If so, any recommendations? Would need to be English or Mandarin speaking...

That is a highly subjective question. In my opinion Feng Shui experts are (in effect) just a quirky form of interior designers. You may definitely get some good input from a Feng Shui expert. Their principles are typically sound when it comes to locating things and so forth, but there is nothing mystical about the process.

Feng Shui experts are just like any other professional who have spent a lot of time, effort and money to know their subject well. I'm sure you wouldn't expect to diagnose and treat an illness just by reading a book and Feng Shui is the same. You need someone who knows what they are doing. The same house/flat would affect anyone living there differently.

vlr, if you do choose to consult a Feng Shui expert, just a friendly remainder that a decent Feng Shui expert will use the things on hand and not ask you to spend more money buying trinkets and ornaments!!

Not always. Plenty of FS "experts" out there who have studied nothing but are very popular........and rich.

Actually funny that a lot of Chinese who believe in this actually have a good understanding and never hire anyone, they might consult a temple but rarely a FS expert. That's normally the preserve of the expats and rich.

evildeeds, I assume you are referring to those that are making it into some kind of showbusiness, those TV FS experts. Yes, I agree with you about that.

Personally I know quite a few FS experts (good and bad) who do consultations for a living and if they just had to rely on expats and the rich I don't think they would be in business for very long. If FS was just based on common sense there would be no need to study it.
