Guitar lessons for 5-year old

Hi

My son who is soon going to be 5 loves his Toys R Us guitar and is keen to play. I am keen to get him some good lessons and a guitar he can use for a while.

Anybody know of teachers who can handle a 5 year old?

You could ask at one of the music shops. They may have a list of contacts perhaps.

Just a suggestion - Ideally you should wait till your child is about 7 before he starts with the guitar - the reason being they need to fret the strings with their finger tips which can be quite painful for a small child. Also their hand span is too short for one hand to cradle the body and the other to hold the neck.
