Hi,
My 6mo daughter has been diagnosed with cow's milk and peanuts allergies. She is still exclusively breasfed but as my milk production is decreasing, we must now start solid food and alternative formula. The allergist doctor we saw yesterday did recommend soy milk but when I got home and read how bad this is for babies, I decided not to try (estrogens). My pedeatrician then recommended Neocate Formula.
Is there anyone who tried Neocate? Could you please tell me if your child has accepted it? I heard it was very smelly and tasted not good. I guess a 6mo baby who has only tried breast milk won't have much taste to compare with right? So perhaps she would just accept it?
As per the solid food, I will start with fruits and then veggies but I heard I should avoid legumes (beans, lentils etc) as it is often not tolerate by babies with cow's milk allergy.
Where could I get Neocate? I couldn't find any in Mannings or Park and Shop. Should I go to babies stores like Eugene or BtB, or pharmacies? How much does it cost here in HK?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Neocate can be bought at Fanda and at Tinyfoots prints as well as at pedeatricians-it is not sold in BtoB or Eugene.
My baby took neocate just fine and has thrived on it. The taste and smell bothers me more than it does him. The bad news-neocate costs 540k$ per 400g (small) tin.
Hope this helps
Good luck!
