Is anyone out there living in Repulse bay happy to be in that part of town? We are looking to move in RB. Haven't moved to a place yet. Does anyone have good things to say about living in 101 or 109 repulse bay apts? What is it like living there?

We love living in Repulse Bay. You can walk everywhere in the area. Great hiking trails. Dog friendly as much as anywhere in HK. Good supermarket (though pricey). Decent beaches. A small selection of decent shops. You tend to meet a lot of people you know so there's is some community feel. It is very close to town. 15-20 minutes to Central by taxi.

Now if they would only build a decent bar/pub. Though I do hear the Repulse Bay Arcade will have the "Bamboo Bar" after they are done renovating.

We don't live in 101 or 109 but have friends there. Both buildings are quite nice if you are into the high rise thing. Pricey though. the health club is great. Great views. Public transport right outside. My only gripe would be that there is no easy lift or escalator all the way up from the Repulse Bay Arcade. You're either going on the access roads or walking up a lot of steps.

Thank you axptguy38 for your advice! I much appreciate it. By any chance do you have young kids and looking for a play group pls let me know as I would like to get to know more ppl with younger children in the area of repulse bay. We are looking into 101/109 place -haven't finalized would you have any guesses how much would a 4 bedrm cost, they have still to come back with a figure.

Don't worry, you'll find tons of people with small kids in Repulse Bay.

I would hazard a guess that a 4 bedroom in 101 or 109 costs 80-130k. 101 would be a bit cheaper. But I don't really know. You do pay a premium for those two buildings, especially 109.

You should definitely look into other places in Repulse Bay. Burnside (not flashy but a great place for kids), South Bay Villa (no pool in this one), South Bay Palace (small but nice pool, "fancy" building). Also there are some very nice buildings in Middle Bay which is very close, like Ruby Court, Belgravia, Grand Garden. The latter three have nice pools, are right by to Middle Bay beach, and are are only a 5-10 minute shuttle bus ride from 101-109.

Oh for the days of the old Repulse Bay Hotel. Breakfast or lunch on the verandah.

You can still get breakfast and lunch at the Verandah. They're renovating right now but will reopen in October. There's going to be a bar called "Bamboo Bar". Also they have already completed some lovely historical exhibits showing old pictures and artifacts from the hotel's heyday.

Has Lido Plaza opened? Has anyone been there? I wonder what shops are/will be there?

Lido Plaza would be that empty thing down by the beach, right? That's been vacant since construction ended over a year ago. Some scandal about permits apparently. Rumors of a Taste to open there. At this point I'd be happy if anything opened...

To add insult to injury, they wanted to tear down the Seaview Building as well to build new. Cooler heads prevailed, presumably pointing out that if they can't even manage to open one new building for business...
