Hi,
I am new in Hong Kong.I want to buy some winter clothes and shoes.I have been tp New town Plaza, Festival Walk and Ladies market in Mong Kok.I didnt like Ladies market, although I heard a lot about it.The other 2 malls were expensive. Can you give me some idea from where I can buy things in relatively cheaper price than the branded one but not as cheap as Ladies market.

Go to Stanley market! There are outlet stores with winter clothes (sometimes expensive brands) for a fraction of the original price....

Try the Citygate outlets at Tung Chung for some real bargains.

unfortunately there is nowhere in Hong Kong to shop for western style clothes at reasonable prices. All the malls are generally the same with all the same shops. Hong Kong either has markets which you are required to thrawl through odds and ends or designer shops with extortionate prices. You may do what most western ladies do is shop in Europe or US. Even tailoring is hit and miss and never quite what you want. It is also cheaper to buy designer clothes and beauty products overseas than in Hong Kong. Also note HK does not accept refunds or exchanges.
A word of advice, don't get caught up in this 'packet' sales where you buy 10 sessions in one hit as there's always problems later.

Now it is really confusing!!!! Since I have just arrived here and has no plan to go to US or UK within next 1 year, I need to shop here for winter.
So need some real guide line.

OK first thing. We do not have much of a winter here. In fact this year it was about a week or so and that was it. So you have no actual need to prepare in the same way as you would back west. You will find winter clothes here last for several years as they are worn so infrequently.
So you were in New Town Plaza, so close and yet so far! If you'd gone over to Lucky Plaza then you would have found several womens clothes shops. For the cheaper but not super cheap you'll need to find the more local malls. Alternatively go to places such as Jusco and Sincere where there will be clothes that don't cost an arm and a leg.

If you're going to the Jusco store at Tai Koo (not great for tall people- it's Japanese) - also go to City Plaza mall there, aslo normal prices.
There's a chain called Sun & Moon which has several locations, it's hit and miss, as it's an outlet/sample shop, they have 2 in Stanley Market, one in Jardine's Bazaar, Causeway Bay, and others in Sheung Wan and TST.
Try the outlet shops on Johnston Road, Wanchai, especially Super Sample.

Try any Marks and Spencer - cheap and good quality. The labels within the store are all quite different so you need to try on everything and see what suits you. They get new stock in every week so if you don't like anything when you first go, try the next week. Excellent ladies pants, woolies, skirts and sometimes the colours are off but just buy neutrals - black/white/brown/taupe etc.

Since when was M & S cheap? May not be as overprices as a lot of HK, but it ain't cheap!
