Condensation on Wine Fridge Door

ORIGINAL POST

We didn't have a wine fridge previously in HK, but bought one in Singapore. It has now been plugged in here for a week but there seems to be a large amount of condensation on the outside of the door - is this normal?

It's simple physics. The fridge door temperature is below the local dew point, meaning that air that comes into contact cools and thus cannot hold the same amount of moisture. Thus air condenses out and sticks to the fridge door.

Same principle as on a cool drinks glass in warm, humid weather. For that matter the same principle as aircraft contrails.
