Currently applying for the above - besides copy of ID, passport and tax receipts (cos that's the only thing I can prove) What other docs do I need.

And the self address envelop - I'm assuming I have to stamp it also?

bank statement for last three months and utility bill with name and address on it. All docs required should be listed on the application somewhere.

I think - in addition to showing 7 years of continuous legal residence - you also need to give some documentation to show that you intend to take HK as your permanent place of residence. I'm not sure about this but I think it has something to do with a court ruling. Not very onerous. Something like a local choir membership or other will do.

Actually, you don't need to give documentation to show that you intend to take HK as your permanent home, you actually fill out a form called ROP 146 "Declaration of Having Taken Hong Kong as Only Place of Permanent Residence." So much more simple.

I gave the following documents:

7 years tax demand notes

first and current contract

tenancy agreement

id card and passport copy

ROP 146

and my application was approved no problem. Picked up my new ID card a couple of weeks ago

When I did mine it was just previous passports with visa's in and ID card, but that was from a dependant visa. Simple application.
