Hello Friends,
I have recently shifted from USA and suffering from Psoriasis , It was diagnosed 5 to 6 years back and after trying onitments etc I was on Stelara injections and it cleared almost completely.. untill i had to shift to HK and checked Stelara cost in HK its too much and also the cost is not covered under insurance.
Off late it has flared up pretty bad on my scalp since moving to HK..Going thru all the threads in the forum I want to try Chinese Medicine..but confused how and where to start. Can anyone suggest a good Chinese Medicine doctor .
I would very much appreciate the info ASAP..

If you have a HK ID card, try the HK public hospitals Chinese Medicine division. It's HKD120 for consultation and two doses medicine or HKD150 for acupuncture (those were the prices when I last went about a year or so ago). Find the one nearest to youy at http://www.ha.org.hk/chinesemedicine/clist.asp?lan=en
We have gone to both private and public doctors for TCM and find the government clinics quite good (at least the one in Tai Po).

Hi Kian
I suggest you try Brendt Reynolds at Lauren Bramley & Partners Medical practice in Queens Road, Central, he is from Australia and does Acupuncture and trained in China and works with Chinese herbs ect. Check out the website: www.Laurenbramley.com
I have been seeing him for awhile with great success, although he is expensive, like everything else in HK.

Thanks for all of yr suggestions denisiel, Geranium1 and nttaipei will try these docs and hope i get some relief somewhere.
@ denisiel just wanted to ask you ..do i go directly to the public hospitals cause tried the tel number there seems they don't speak english cause everytime i call up and say something they hang up. So was not sure if i can visit directly or have to take an appointment prior to my visit.

I made the appointments in advance but you may be able to walk in too. I call the direct number to the center I wish to visit and ask if they speak English. They always pass the phone to a few people but eventually a nurse or doctor will come on the line and take your appointment.
You should know if you want Chinese medicine or acupunture as those are different clinics. If you aren't sure, they'll offer a consult when you come in and then send you to the appropriate clinic.
For your appointment itself, the doctor will speak English. I took my Father in Law who is from Europe and they assigned him the head doctor, who was trained in both Western and Chinese medicine and the doctor spoke fluent English.
I have one more referral who I haven't seen since 2006 but is excellent. Not sure if his contact details are valid:
Dr. Wu Jing Lung
135-137 Caine Road
2857-5611
He taught at HKU and in Guangzhou as well. Doesn't speak English so you need a translator. Clinic is very basic (ie. not super sterile like at the hospital). Dr. Lung has helped a few friends and was amazing for my allergies and my husband's fatigue. Highly recommended. Actually, before Dr. Lung, I did not believe in TCM.
