I have just started giving my 13 mth old, Stage 3 Promil Gold formula. However I was wondering, at what age is a toddler normally introduced to cow's milk?

1 year is fine, although I have read that a small quantity (such as for use on cereal) can be given before that. The main points being (1) cow's milk not being used as main nourishment for baby prior to 1 year, and (2) large quantity should not be given until the digestive system can handle cow's milk, which is generally around 1. Like all food, introduce gradually and slowly with chance to see if there is allergic reaction.

You can use normal milk powder (rather than formula), or Australian milk - I don't find the local 'fresh' milk very fresh. Yes all at 1+ age.

for cereal and cooking, cows milk can be used from 6 months, also fromage frais, yoghurt etc. Cows milk as a main drink from 1 year, semi skimmed from 2 years, skimmed milk from 5 years, but I still use the formula once or twice a day beacuse of all the vitamins, zinc etc.
