I am looking for a tailor, for women's trousers, suits, shirts and maybe dress/skirts. I want someone who can give good suggestions and help with choosing fabrics. Am willing to pay around HKD 500 - 800 for trousers, and HKD 200 - 400 for shirts.
Any suggestions in Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai area?
I am happy with 1 who specialises in shirts, 1 who specialises in dresses, etc.... or 1 who does it all.
They do not need to speak perfect English.
WARNING:
I went to a tailor, who made me a great pair of trousers, but then took months (no joke, 6 months!) to get me my second pair. It is a real shame because I liked her, but now I don't trust her (she gave me every excuse except the dog ate them). This is called Made to Measure in Causeway Bay, the woman is Teneel - stay away if you want your clothing in a reasonable time!

Thanks for that!
And someone in another thread suggested http://www.Jantzentailor.com in World Wide House for Shirts.
Anyone have a good tailor for women's suits in Central/Admiralty?? Someone who can give advice and suggestions on style, not just copy.
Thanks!

Hi Cara - you are very lucky that only happened to you once! She is a great tailor, she is just so unreliable and I can't wait 6 months for 1 pair of trousers!
I just had some shirts made at Jantzentailor in World Wide House - they seem to make good shirts for both men and women (all cost 280 HKD) - but I saw some other customers getting fitted for suits and trousers and they did not look very nice. So I will stick to them just for shirts.
I am still looking for a good tailor for women's trouers and suits in central or admiralty.
Experience has shown that a good men's tailor is not always good with women. And a good shirt tailor, is not always good with suits...
Any suggestions for women's trousers and suits tailor?

I had one experience with Made to measure that was nice. Then next one, I had to wait for over 4 months. I got frustrated. She refunded me and gave me back my skirt absolutely untouched on the spot. I never used Teneel again as there was no proactive excuses/ communication. When she is overloaded, she chooses her clients: I suspect she keeps with honey the long timers big bucks TaiTai and leave the others to their despair.
May be she is real good in the low season only.

I used one tailor on the 1st floor of Admiralty center to get work shirts during my pregnancy (3 for 900$). Forgot the name. Greatly made but the problem is that because they all do mostly men, the fabrics they propose are all the regular banker's stripes.
The models for dresses are so classic.
I am keen to read further the thread for a good tailor for women.

Minono - thanks for the great idea about maternity clothing (getting it made)! (not that I need it, but good idea to remember and tell friends)
I just picked up my 4 shirts from Jantzen Tailor - and I am happy with them. I was particular about the design (I wanted feminine not a man's shirt), and they came out really well. The first fitting, the arms were too tight, but the second fitting they were super comfortable and just what I ordered.
Now, if I only had some nice tailored trousers to go with them...
The search goes on for an excellent tailor in Central/Admiralty for women's trousers and suits... any suggestions??

Ms.take - thank you, I know that there are a lot in Admiralty Centre - will look for that one you mentioned.
Moonriver -
Teneel (Made to Measure) is a nightmare - please see comments above by me and from Minono. She is a very good tailor, but you can wait 4-6 months (no joke) for your clothing. Completely unreliable.
I will call Irene - thank you for that!
Any other suggestions out there?
