Has anybody tried the furniture and interior design services of B&B Design shop in Wanchai? Would you recommend it?

I have got a couple of things made from B&B- dining table, TV stand etc. They do good work which is reasonably priced. I have couple of friends who use B&B and lets say none of us have been disappointed.

Exactly, they are good quality for money and nicely designed. However don't expect the furniture to last you a lifetime. I would recommend them I had quite a few pieces made from them about 6 months ago.

we ended up not getting anything from B&B. it was mainly because of price. they quoted us almost 7k for one wardrobe and 5k for a queen sized bed. you probably need to haggle.

after some consideration, we decided and ended up getting cheap furniture as we are still not sure whether we are going to stay here in HK for the long haul. our time horizon is only 2 years. if we need to leave HK then we could just write off our costs for our furniture.

we bought from shinway furniture for our wardrobe - www.shinway.com. we also got this info from one of our expat colleagues here in asiaxpat

they sell the same good pieces from pricerite but a few hundred dollars cheaper. the exact same wardrobe cabinet we bought at HK$2100 sells for HK$2700 in pricerite. the catch is you can only pay in cash.

we promised not to get anything from ikea but we still ended up getting from them our display cabinet/ bookshelf - their "journalist" line - because it had the same feel as what we saw from a high end shop in causeway bay. it's just us i guess.

we are still searching for our dining set and buffet cabinet. we still have not found the right one. we are giving it a few more weeks. we just use a temporary table and some foldable chairs for now.

Touchwood is DEFINITELY not cheaper than B&B and I'd be very surprised if they (B&B) got another company to supply their goods for them. The wood that B&B uses is real wood, ie not laminate or composite, but it may be a cheaper wood like elm rather than teak.

We had a shoe cabinet and book shelf made to order, both of which were badly cracked and had to be replaced 3 times until we finally had enough and cancelled one order and didn't pay the full price of the other. Also the delivery guys who assembled the pieces did a particularly bad job splintering the wood and putting on pieces back to front. I would check everything you buy very carefully.

Most of my furniture including a king size bed is made by B&B and is more than 2 yrs old. Haven't had any complaints so far. Their quality is certainly better than IKEA & Pricerite.

I used the one at whampao. they custom made a warddrobe for me. then i recommended it to a friend of mine, for whom B & B made furniture set for his studyl (desk, cabinet, shelves). good work at reasonable price, i worked with Mr Chan at whampao branch, who is experienced and friendly.
