I am 25, professional, and looking to relocate from New Zealand to Hong Kong. If you had the benefit of hindsight, what would you have liked to know before you were in HK? I grew up in Singapore, getting comfortable with the expat way of life before relocating to New Zealand with my family, and am now looking to make my own adventures in Asia. I know it will be hard work, dirty and crowded compared to New Zealand, but any insights, tips or comments would be much appreciated

Australia and Hong Kong have a working holiday visa agreement so, as long as you are under 26, you can get permission to do some work here, but there are restrictions on the type of work and period of employment... so this arrangement would be more about life experience than making pots of money.

Thanks for the tips, I will have a look in the relocation forum as suggested. I don't mean dirty and crowded in a bad way, just different to what I'm used to. I have been in discussions with a company there, and am looking at relocating to take up a position. In terms of visa's do the companies usually arrange that? I also currently hold Singapore, US and NZ passports - will this be of any help? I am looking at continuing my career within the Recruitment industry. If anyone has any ideas on what my expectations should be in terms of salary, benefits etc that would be even better! - I am aware that we recruiters often don't work for the money - we do it for the love!! Any comparisons between HK and NZ from others in similar industries? Cutiepie you can contact me on lesabee@hotmail.com
