Dear Nofa
Are you thinking of living in a village house? Renting or buying? I m living in a village house now and I was living in high rise apartments so I understand the pros and cons. Overall, i prefer to live in a village in a village house. If you want to know more about "village houses", I m happy to tell you more about it.
Village houses, three storey, 700 feet per floor. One advantage is that you get a 700 square feet roof terrace if you take the top floor... and, in some cases, a bit of outdoor space if you take the ground floor. The middle floor is usually the least desirable. All three floors usually have balconies. Village houses are the result of a weird HK policy giving free land to male descendants of people who were villagers in the New Territories when the UK leased the land from China. The Government restricts the type of house which can be built, which is why they all look so similar. There are lots of village houses in Saikung and Lamma Island. Some people rent the entire three floors, which makes for a big house and the rooftop outdoor space.
Nowadays, village houses are much better built and some of them have a very nice interior design. Especially if you cld afford the whole block, you can have a lot of open space.
Dear Roy
Please respect other people's thread. If you want to talk about water heater, go back to that specific one. And no need to be so pissed off when people found out that you are wrong.
