Can anyone recommend a salon/product to use for fake tan. Anyone tried the spray tans as opposed to tanning creams? How much does it cost?
Thanks!

Can't recommend places or cost.. BUT my girlfriend had it done (not in HKG though). It was amazing. She went from pretty darn white, to pretty darn 'tanned' in about 15 mns.
The tan looked great (she was given the option to choose what colour she wanted).
how does the spray on tan look like a few weeks later as the skin in sloughing off? I've tried self applied creams and when the skin comes off it looks horrible and patchy.
Saw a few tanning salons in HK recently but not sure if they were tan beds or spray ones.

She said it faded v.naturally, probably because it was evenly applied. The only place it stayed longer though was her bottom!!! (Let's not try to figure out why)...
I went to California tanning near the escalator - but I love any sunbed...
You can get a good-value spray tan at Sunergy, ph Melanie 9661 3234
I've been to California Tanning. I used the tanning bed. It's quick and convenient (about 20 minutes) especially during the winter months. Everytime afterwards, people asked me whether or not I went on vacation so I assume it looked quite natural. As for fading, even tanning in the sun (which I do during summer months with sunblock) also fades. But suntans do last a little longer.
Feel Good Factor www.feelgoodfactor.com.hk do Fantasy Tan which is sprayed on.
Pure Spa www.pure-spa.com do St. Tropez spray tanning
Never tried them but I am really tempted as I don't enjoy sitting out in the sun but I want the nice tanned looks and I worry (maybe unnecessarily) about using sunbeds.
am thinking of spray tans too as I do not want to do it the traditional way, since all the news of skin cancer and skin ageing.
If spray tans fade off naturally then I'd try it!If it comes off patchy like tanning creams..then it's back to the drawing board.

They do a St. Tropez spray tan at Ellespa, Repulse Bay. It is pretty good, but I have been more impressed with the SunFX ones that I have had done before.
How much does a spray tan normally cost in HK?

i've been trying to call melanie at sunergy. the call goes directly to voice mail. i've left messages but have not received a reply. does anyone know if they are still operating?
try Jodi on 96862970 instead
i regularly go to The Firm at The Centrium building at Arbuthnot Road for spray tanning, waxing, threading and all.The therapist is great there.
hi melanie G,
can u give me the number of the firm?
St Tropez is a great spray tan product, a little more costly than fantasy tan etc but worth it as it looks natural etc, think around the $500 mark. Try Elemis Day Spa in Central
its more like a vegetable dye that is sprayed onto the skin, nothing at all like being int he sun. Doesn't change skin cells or affect your skin negatively. They generally last about 2 weeks depending on your activities and body exfoliation.
Does anybody know of a salon that does Fake Bake lotion tanning in Hong Kong? Or anywhere that sells it? I used to get this tan done at home and it really is the most natural looking and more importantly lasts the longest! I've had spray tans before and I really wasn't happy with the results.

Ms D I've used the johnson and johnson fake tan from the UK.(cheap at approx HK$50) I have both the face and the body ones. I really like it because it goes on like a moisteriser and darkens gradually the more you use it. You don't get those streaky legs that you get with the quick tans and don't suddenly get brown(or sometimes orange). It has had good UK reviews. However despite it smelling great when it goes on it does smell chemically the first day of application. I found this went after showering. I bought it in the UK and haven't seen it anywhere here. Has anyone used any nice facial tanners here (eg clarins, clinique etc...) and are they worth the money? Do the fake spry tans smell?
hi monica,
i was mentioning about 'the firm Retreat spa' at The Centrium,Wyndham street. The therapist is Dolma.their number is 25256696.

I'm also a fan of Vicky at the Feel Good Factor. Just remember to bring loose, dark clothes to change into afterward. Happy tanning!

I had the spray tan at the Feel Good Factor, on Lyndhurst Terrace, and it was fab. Pretty cheap (about 300 dollars). She does Fantasy Tan or St Tropez - I've had both and St. Tropez comes out a better colour. Great for a special occasion, or just before a vacation.
Thanks Nix. $300 sounds great!! Will give them a call.
Just had fantasy tan. Can I use the swimming pool? They suggest not to which is a little restrictive.
Has anyone tried it?
Dumb question perhaps but which fan (fantasy/St tropez etc) would be best on super white (and I'm talking scary like a ghost) skin??
I used to go to Rosali but have had better at Elemis. Have done SunFx and St Tropez, would say the St Tropez comes out better but if you are very fair skinned you can ask for a lighter tan - they will go as light or as dark as your colouring will allow.
Would def recommend it for weddings etc but best to have a 'test run' just in case yu don't like it. Be warned - you do look rather alarming whilst the tan is developing, colour looks much better after a shower the next morning.

I use Clarins self tanning gel. It is cheap - about $160- $180 HKD, it lasts about 5 days and looks very natural. It never goes streaky/patchy either. Believe me, if I can use it - anyone can!! Super stuff!
I second that! I have used Clarins for years, gives a lovely tan.
Hi, my mum was recently over for a visit from the uk and wanted a st.tropez spray tan. I booked her into Ellespa in central and I have to say it was perfect very natural. My mum was really pleased and Christine who applied the tan was very professional - would recommend!!!!!
Right after you do it, does the color come off your clothes? Do you have to do it every 7 days? How do they apply it on you? Do you have to stand stark naked and they spray it on you?
