i am an easy going and smart woman who's been home for almost two months,i quit my job at my old school where i used to teach for almost a year ,i didnot realize that it is so difficult to find another job until i am actually i am staying at home all day long .

i have the high ability of working in my field but no body cares about my ability but just my diploma ,they donot even interview me but keep silence after they received my resume.

i donot understand why people would love to hire some people who canot do the jobs for their company but leave me alone .am i blind or they are ???

Understand your frustration, I also cannot understand how some people are hired when they clearly are unable to the job. Much of it is networking - sometimes it's not what you know but who you know.

Also have someone else go over your resume and cover letters. If you have the right abilities and experience, does your resume reflect them fully? Remember your resume is what will get you into a interview. It is a sales / promotion piece not just a list of things you have done. The library has many good books that you can read to make sure your resume can really sell you to the person who decides whether to interview you.

yes ,i agree with what you said ,but cultures' differences will disagree some of what you said ,they would rather me to get a fake diploma for myself and then go to they again ,because they love to see something fake ,because this is how the systerm works in china .

i loved my job ,i enjoyed so much working with my little kids as well as my native english teachers since i started working as a chinese assistant.i donot have a problem with my work.

the problems were:some of my chinese co-workers were bad behaviored during the work,my boss was as bad her other chinese employees ,they were working together to cheat our chinese students .

they do not care how much the students can actually learn english from the programe they are running for them.they care how much they can make from the studetns .

and if you have ever worked with some chinese hookers who called themselves "teachers "you will learn why i quit my job there .

I think that you have had some good advice - take that and ignore the silly comments. Have someone vet your resume for you. Talk to your former teaching partners and employer regarding your references. Have a good professional friend help you with a mock interview and take your time. Very few schools hire at this time of the year.

Keep in mind that the EMB is getting very sticky with teacher references and a new school might not want to hire you if you don't meet the minimum educational requirements.

Maybe I don't understand the posts, but if you are looking for a job as an English teacher, don't you think the English in your resume needs to be impeccable? Isn't it a bit lazy not to have covered this minor detail already? Don't make excuses! If an employer has a stack of 20 perfect resumes and yours has grammar errors, then yours will be thrown in the trash. You'd also better have some glowing references, and the reasons you state for why you left would make me wonder if you could work as part of a team. Sometimes blunt honesty is not the best policy in a job interview. Also, I agree with Sabi. Credentials give a baseline to use in comparing people in some objective way. I assure you that if you don't get them, the course of your entire career will be affected. The saying in my family is something like, "If you think the cost of education is expensive, then compare the cost of having no education." Last but not least, credentials are necessary but contacts are what gets you the job. If the parents of your students loved you so much, have you considered asking them for references and ideas?

As someone who hires and fires people, yes it's necessary to be "pissy" and picky about a candidate's resume, it's part of the job. It's what will get you to the next stage, hopefully an interview.

People have offered you some excellent advice, so say thank you and just get on with it as Old Mac said. You're so preoccupied with being angry and disgusted that you're attitude is the reason why you're not getting anywhere. What's more important: being pissed off or getting a job? I think you've had enough time to be pissed off, so now it's time to get smart. Employers aren't calling you? Call them. You also need to go knock on some doors and introduce yourself. Smile. Cash in some favours. And for God's sake, lose the juvenile attitude.

Best of luck

A teacher is someone who has integrity to be respected by students and adults. With your attitude, i can see why you're not getting the job. Respect your own country fella and your boss otherwise you will never get any job.

Mac> Simon is the only reason why i watch the idol.
