hi, i have spider veins on my thighs, behind my knees and i can see there are some tiny ones start to show in another parts of my legs. I am very worried and I cannot wear short skirt. I am only in my early 30's with no kids and I dont know why I have this at so early age. I would like to know if anyone know a place in HK can do some treatment for this problem with an affordable price. Thanks!

hi there. i have the same problem as u and we r about the same age. it has nothing to do with being fair coz i had it when i was very tanned last time.

i have not done any treatment but i spoke to my doctor some years ago and his advise was....... exercise. he said it helps the blood circulation so it lessens the appearance of the veins. i noticed slight improvements but u'll never get rid of it completely. also, it's in the genes so check if ur parents have it. if yes, then sad to say, u're stuck with it.

Has anyone had sclerotherapy? I want to get this done over the summer in the US but my doc says bruising can be bad for a few weeks and best to wait till the winter months when pants will hide it. Could it be that bad?

Mozerella, I don't see what the problem is. So what if you have a few visible spider veins...are you willing to go through an operation, to get them removed? If you are so obsessed with them..why don't you just put a concealer on them ?...I don't think anyone cares if you have spider veins or that you cannot wear your short skirt. As long as u r healthy how does it matter?

Quite a few friends of mine have had sclerotherapy. Their experience was fine, no pain, simple procedure. It is better to do it in winter, depending on some doctors, they would like their patients to where support hose. There is a little bruising, but that is about it.

Good luck.

I had sclerotherapy done in the winter, wore supportive hose for 10 days, no bruising, no pain. But they did return in other places.

Before therapy doctor has to do the ultrasound of deep veins, coz in the end they have to be able to take the flow of blood, as sclerotherapy just sticks parts of vein walls together, so blood will flow into different veins.

It is genetic+overweight, and might be problem in deep veins.

Exercise is good, but not everything, when running you have to wear special stockings. Sunshine is bad as is waxing and epilation and leg massage.

There are pills and gels. Consult a doctor.

Ive just rang up the ONLY one place I can find in Beijing that seems to do IPL vein reomval. They said that it wasnt very affective however! How so do you think? I've had spider veins on the back of one of my legs since I was about 18, and its gradually spreading to the front of my leg and Ive just noticed now the same is happening on my other leg.I dread summer for having to show my legs and this year so far I have only worn trousers and Im so so hot!!! My boyfriend said he barely notices it, but I know other people do and Im really self conscious about it. So has anyone heard of a place in Beijing or HK as another member keeps asking about? It's really time to do something about it. ALSO, why did someone mention that its not good to have a leg massage, i have them now and then...is it bad? Hope someone can come up with good advice quickly!!! A hot Beijinger...

You could try Sclerotherapy at a place like http://www.veno.com.hk/eng/index.htm

but they will keep coming back unless you make some life styles changes.

With particularly stubborn spider veins, there are several things you can do to achieve faster results.

These include :

Taking natural supplements such as Vitamin C and bioflavanoids. These assist in keeping capillary walls strong and healthy and minimise vascular fragility.

Eating a high fibre diet.

Not wearing constrictive clothing.

Elevate the legs 6 to 12 inches above the heart at bedtime.

Avoid crossing the legs.

Drink plenty of water.

Try a supplement such as http://healthyhumanshk.com/circulation-and-veins/67-garden-of-life-extraordinary-beauty-lovely-legs-30-vegan-caps.html

I've got them too. I walk miles and miles with my dog most days (except in summer) have a very healthy diet, never wear constrictive clothes and still got them. It's genetic.

Spider or varicose veins are the cause of a weakened circulatory health. As we age, circulatory vessels weakens and it is evident in the legs. Other contributing factors are prolonged standing, obesity, genetics,, lack of physical activity, unbalanced diet, menopause and associated hormonal changes.

Can recommend dietary supplement called Vein Formula from Pharmanex and is recommended for adults wanting nutritional and antioxidant support for the veins and blood vessels in the leg. Two key ingredients in this formula is patented grape seed and buffered Vitamin C both working synergistically to help protect the integrity of your leg's circulatory system while maintaining normal blood circulation and water balance in the legs.

You can contact me if you would like to try. Price of one bottle is HK$390.

After suffering from Bell's Palsy (Half Paralysis of the face) and defying what the medical professional told me that I will never be able to recover 100% and would have taken me more than a year to somehow get back to normal, I recovered from the disease within a week using Pharmanex products.
