Any comments, experiences and observations on this? Why does it always have to be older man, younger woman?

the more interesting and exciting men I have come to know have been , at some point involved with older women.
It's just an indication that they dont conform to social norms, have a mind of their own and are as curious as hell.
Now,I like that.

How many years difference anyway?
I have a friend couple about 18 years difference, he's now 26 she's 44... they are happy married for 3 years now.

After years of dating, I have learn that maturity and age is not positively correlated. Men can be younger, but holds a better head on his shoulders. I have dated men who are 4 or 6 years older than I am. None of them are as mature as my current bf who is 3 years younger than me. I truly believe it's the person that really matters.

i'm talking about over 15 years difference here. too far fetched? the younger man is a poor country boy and the woman is well off. how would that dynamic play into the situation?

Only you can answer that.
He can be the poor country boy fascinated by your money.
He can be the poor country boy fascinated by you.
Can be the above together.
How old is he? What is he doing for a living. What kind of relationship you are having?

I think that the issue is not younger man, but how young the man is. If you are 25 and dating someone 5 years younger, the age difference is too much. IF you are 35 and dating someone 30, its pretty good. If you are 65 and he is 60, he is probably too old - go younger.

I heard about the term "cougars". It bears such negative connotations though. There certainly is growing acceptance for the older woman/younger man combo in North America. Less so in Asia.
I agree. It's more got to do with their emotional age. There are some men who are over 40 and think and act like 20 year olds. Like they say, you can't take the boy out of the man.....

Gerald- Take off those thick glasses, tart yourself up a bit and find out the difference between reading and doing.
As a Canadian, I would suggest that a "cougar" is just like some old WanChai deep pockets guy. She is financially supporting a young pup in return for a good time. I think you can have a relationship with a younger man without having to be a cougar - look at Demi Moore! Older men have their advantages, but I can't get over their taste in music (yes I know, a terrible generalization).

Once you go young you never go back!! ha ha.

Bebbek, yes and no on that. I find that an occasional older man is nice. Longer focus, better manners.. if they could just choose better music!

Gerald, It is rare to find a man who thinks of himself as a woman. I wish you luck with that - does that make a difference to the whole age issue?

Gerald, you seem to have spent alot of time thinking about this fantasy/fetish. Have you considered writing a letter to Dan Savage - "Savage Love"? He may be able to help you find other age morphing cross dressers.

I think that most women can. They just spend far too much time weighing the consequences and worrying what other people think. I say, go for the younger man!.... but stay away from the twenty somethings - they are not ripe yet.
Gerald, still not sure what you have read about taking the boy from the man. Perhaps you could elaborate? I am a slow learner, so pictures help.

Oh Gerald, I apologise - was not aware of how sensitive you were. Don't want to get banned now!

Age within reason makes no difference either way. My partner soon to be husband is 6 years younger than me, in fact apart from one, all my boyfriends in the past have been younger than me. The biggest age gap being 15 years younger. My best friends husband is 11 years younger than her, they have been happily married for 7 years and have 2 kids.
Having said that there are age gaps and age gaps, for instance a relationship between a 20 year old guy and a 35 year old woman is probably not going to work as well as one between a 30 year old guy and a 45 year old woman.

Oh, Gerald will get over it! Ed...?
I think that the women's forum has more interesting topics that are obviously of interest to both men and women. We just have to skirt around Ed's prudish, catholic boy sensibilities to make sure we don't offend him.

Ed=catholic boy/choir boy?
Ha! Ha! So is that true Ed?
SWS +Gerald, too bad I missed that. Hope you had it on recording.

To the cleaners gerald - I suspect you may have soiled yourself by spouting such tripe. I am holding back here - in deference to Ed's sensibilities.

I'm doing a documentary about cougars for TVB's The Pearl Report. I'm looking for "cougars" and younger men who date older women, to profile. Anybody who's interested in being interviewed, please email me at renato.reyes@tvb.com or call my office number at 2335-2057.
Thanks
