ok .. i do not know ho wthis sounds .. but i really want to knwo what IS fenwick all about ? from the posts , i get that it has fillipina gals in hot pants and what more ? i mean i want proper details .. does it mean that any guy who goes there is actually going to have sex with one of them ??>

Hmm..not sure about everything is for sale there...two weeks ago,Group of friends and I went there..one of my guy friends really liked this lady..and she just danced with us..when my friend offered for a drink, she asked for water and told my friend she just enjoy dancing that's why she goes there with her friends. My friend gave her his business card and she never get back to him..so, I wouldnt generalize:-).

Neptunes, Strawberries, Fenwicks - all have girls who are there to make a bit of money and some just to hang out and dance. The one thing that links them all is that they are all looking for a fella - either for the night or for a relationship.


That said they are no different from any bar in HK where women congregate, the difference is that these women are more honest about what they want.

Vulvic- that was a nasty one. Generalisation that women in bars are there to be picked up and want IT is such a 1930's chauvinistic one.

It would be chauvinistic if I was a bloke but I am not. Be honest, if you're single and you are out on the town with your friends do you shy away from male attention?


I never said that all women want to be picked up, I alluded that some women want to meet men either for something casual or for a relationship. You should really read more carefully.

Its is probably a vent from all those times that I have been in a bar alone ,usually waiting for the rest to show up and have given male attention( No i did not / do not shy away from it) But its been only as a pick up.

I have been in Fenwicks a few times, usually after far too many G&Ts and I have to say on many occasions I have been the only gweipo in there. It is definately an Asian babe hangout and the general ambience is 'cattle market' rather than 'chilled hangout'.

Very few mainland Chinese in Fenwick. They tend to be out on the streets. Predominantly Filipino with some Thai. Most girls are working. Some are only chasing commission on drinks. Sunday afternoon you get the domestics so a slightly different setup. Sometimes couples etc go for a dance on Sunday afternoon. Recently there have been groups of Filipinas working for mamasans that charge $1500 to leave the bar of which the mamasans get 50%. Girls cost from $500 to $1500 if freelancing. Sometimes get young westerners in there having fun and a sprinkling of Columbian, Venezualan girls also working. Girls get $40 bucks for every lady's drink bought. Some guys just buy drinks and yak others get takaway! Band is better than most in Wanchai but not as good as Dusk to Dawn. Neptune is predominantly Thai and has less organised prostitution rings. Fenwicks is notorious for getting phones nicked and has a reputation for having younger girls and more drugs. Some of the girls are on 'ice' etc to keep on smiling and stay awake. A lot of the girls, particularly those over 21 would have families or children that they are supporting on their own. Most are on tourist visas. Thais get 1 month, Filipinas 2 weeks. They have no rights and invariably are victims. At the very least it is an unhealthy lifestyle that drags many into alcohol and drug problems or worse. The vast majority are here through poverty and lack of social welfare nets in the countries of origin. Whether you are a man or a woman you would find them interesting to talk to. They live 4-5 to a room in Wanchai and often take clients to short-time hotels around the place and yes I'm writing a book eventually.

I spent sometime in H K & went to Fenwicks on a number of occassions. I met many young girls there. From my experience it was no different to any other night club, only the girls are a bit more 'hands on'. It seemed to be full of mostly older European men hanging on to the bar while 'gorking' at the multitude of girls that hang out there.
