Guys I have been contacting all the acting communities and no response.. so seriously i decided to see anybody who is interested and we can look together or start up a new group. Please if any one is already in the group, please help. I have sent like many threads before asking for as much communities as i can to contact but no luck. I have been in hong kong for quite while and i am dying to act. Appreciate your interest in the subject...

I have been trying to contact many acting groups to even audition, but no response from their side. So i wanted to see if anyone already in those groups that can assist, or see people who are interested to create a new group..May be Improv sessions.. Short plays... Play Read outs.. etc.. Or even try to find together a group to join.

Have you tried either the Hong Kong Players or Hong Kong Singers? Both do a lot of different theatre. Hong Kong Players have a production at the Maculay Studio, Arts Centre at the end of this month, you should check it out. They both have websites. I don't have any personal experience with either of these groups (yet!) but I have meet people who have and say that they are great!!

word to the wise, it can be tricky getting in touch with players and singers over the summer because they dont do shows then so they arent audtioning or arounf rehearsing, all the esf schools do a level drama and have at least 3 teachers each, so if u were willing to have sixth formers contact them next term. advertise in hk magazine, hk singers is taking a more child orientated channel now that places like faust have become more popular, but players are good, it all depends what ur looking for ive worked with quite afew of the groups here, and there are loads of corporate groups . and dont forget the festivals, try grab a few people whack something together and throw it into the next festival! :) hope that was remotely helpful x

I know this is a late reply, though if you are still in Hong Kong read on. We're currently in the process of renovating a venue in Jordan as a performance space. We're going to start off nights improv based. We've been playing improv games and having fun, though are looking to turn it into more devised performances once we start. The best way to get through to the HK singers, and HK players is to become a member, it costs about $150 a year. you will then be put on their mailing lists and will be sent info on upcoming shows and audition details. There is also The American Community theatre. My daughter has done stuff with all 3 and they're all great people.
