Have a look in the South China Morning Post in the classifieds section. There are a few private ads and a selection of dealers, most who have wesites. For the locals there's 28car.com, but all in Chinese. Depends what your budget is really. If around the 80k + mark send me a PM, a friend of mine is the middle man between the main dealer trade-ins and the car supermarkets here in HK. Can always get a late model bargain you'd never see elsewhere.

jaykay- How old are the cars that your friend can get?? I may be interested if the offer applys to me. If so can I get them mechanically checked first?

We sold two cars on asiaxpat - highly recommended. be sure to have photos, and a good description.

fairybell - they are usually later models as they are traded in at franchised dealers (usually Toyota) for new models - so mainly 2000 onwards. Obviously the main dealers here don't sell used models so they go out to the trade. No problems with being checked by anyone you want, in fact (especially if it's a toyota) they will have a check and connect it up to check any fault codes as well. They can sort finance, etc if required (usually through Wing Hang Bank). If you are after a particular model of car just wait a little while and as soon as one comes in and matches you'll get a call. If when they check it they think it may have been involved in an accident they will tell you and recommend that you do not purchase.
