I know the last posts said there was no skydiving in HK but this was a few years ago. I don't suppose this has changed has it? Is there a place to do it in HK yet?

There is no more skydiving in HK. They used to do it out at the old Sek Kong base when the british had it but since the take over they no longer do it. I think the closest place is Singapore for that or Australia.

I believe there is parasailing in HK. The terrain is certainly well suited for it.

"Seen some people flying over Sai Kung from the moutains around. Not sure whether this counts as "parachuting", too."

That's probably parasailing. The equipment is similar to a modern parachute. The chute is wider and less deep so it soars better.

As a sport parasailing is s more like hang-gliding than skydiving. Skydivers care about the free fall part of the jump. The parachute is just there to stop them from slamming into the ground too fast. Parasailers care about the soaring part. Skydivers want to get the soaring over with so they can re-pack their chute and go back up.
