The Peak (ESF) School or Kellett School or GSIS ?

We're moving to HK from S'pore in January '06. GSIS, Kellett and The Peak School have offered seats to my 9 yr old girl who is in a great international school in Singapore. We're Asians and I'm told Kellett is very good but very Brit and undergoing reconstruction. Not heard much about The Peak School. How's that? And GSIS, I read here in this forum, pressurises the kids a lot. I'm most confused! Any thoughts? Which do we go for?

If time permits, you should take a look at the schools yourself. What's right for one child may not be right for another and I don't believe there's a "best school". Whichever you feel comfortable with is the best school for your child.

Where will you be living?

Unless you're German or Swiss why GSIS? They also have a really early morning start.

Bradbury School is ESF, has a good reputation and has vacancies.

Be aware that with the demand for places there is no guarantee that non-ESF primary kids will be accepted into ESF secondary schools - ESF primary kids will.

Hey, Thanks all you guys. After reading your opinions I did go ahead and confirmed with The Peak School today. One thing sorted out! I now have to find apet hotel for my dog because apparently none of the decent service apttments have facilities for keeping a dog.

So another round of running around begins! Moving countries is so complicated...I marvel people who do it every couple of years!

Thanks Mummy, thats a real big help. We were really torn apart imagining horrendous things happening to our doggie because the relocaton agent painted a terribly gloomy picture of the pet hotels. Sai Kung....hmm.... no idea where it is ( still familiarising ourselves with the HK map!)but we'll be in a service aptment somewhere close to Central and most places shld be accessible somehow from there I presume. Anyways, wherever Angel is, we'll trek, climb do whatever is needed, to get there. The kids can't stay without her!

Thks for your suggestion.

Peak is a very good school, in fact I would recommendation the ESF schools, they offer the PYP curriculum which is part of the IB but also a strong PE, music and art element.
