I've used the same speech therapist for both my children. My daughter had straight articulation issues. My son has more complex speech problems. Right now he's officially diagnosed as having a "language disorder". What type of problem are you dealing with?

I would say earlier intervention is better than later. I also was diagnosed with a speech problem in the 3rd grade by my teacher, and with a year of practice and therapy, my problem was solved. I think it had to do with my young age. I teach a lot of students right now with definite pronounciation problems - and it's too late by the time they are 13 or 14. It's much harder to correct problems as kids get older.
